Pair of bookends in marble and bronze signed Hippolyte MOREAU - The Sea Lions

  

Pair of marble and bronze bookends signed by Hippolyte MOREAU. I am selling this pair of bookends made of red marble veined with white at the base, featuring two sea lions in bronze. Each sea lion is signed H. The bookends date from the early 20th century and are in good condition for their age. Each bookend measures 13 cm in height, 13 cm in length, and 8 cm in width.

They received two medals at the World Expositions of 1878 and 1900. They are mentioned in BENEZIT.
