Selling Rare and beautiful Clock in veined brown Onyx, veined yellow marble, silvered bronze, and white marble. 1925, "Muse with Musicians Cherubs", by George Lavroff. Silvered bronze dial with modernist decor.

Original blued steel Skyscraper-shaped hands. Original 8-day movement with pendulum, needs revision. Lavroff's signature on the back of a putto's foot. Light chips on the onyx - nothing serious.

Length: 54 cm - Height: 44 cm - Depth: 13.5 cm. Georgui Dimitrievitch Lavrov, also known as. He studied under the painter D. Karatonov in Krasnoyarsk before entering the medical faculty of Tomsk University. Alongside his studies, he attended drawing and painting classes at the Tomsk Artists' Society until the October Revolution. From 1922, Lavroff exhibited in Moscow where he became a member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia. From 1927 to 1935, he was sent to France to further his artistic knowledge and promote Soviet art among his French communist comrades. Lavroff then presented his works in artistic salons such as the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne in Paris. He became known for his numerous animal sculptures cast in bronze and ceramic by publishers such as Marcel Guillemard. Upon his return to Moscow in 1935, he became an official artist creating monumental sculptures and busts of Soviet leaders. An exhibition dedicated to him was held in Moscow in 1982.
